"When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs.
When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence".
~ Ansel Adams
Michael Sandy began his journey in photography while serving in the 25th Infantry of the United States Army. He completed his military career while serving as a photojournalist with the 213th ASG. Michael’s experience broadened while working for the American Red Cross as a staff photographer. Meanwhile, he continued his education at The Art Institute of Philadelphia, graduating with honors, in 1993.
For the past twenty-three years, Michael has dedicated himself to his passion for photography. After working for the Red Cross, he subsequently built a successful commercial studio business. Michael’s commercial career took him around the world, spending much of his time in India and Central America. As time went on, Michael’s desire to create fine art gave him a new direction with landscape photography.
Michael is an avid and experienced outdoorsman, giving him a keen eye for the exquisiteness of nature. With great understanding about the element of light and his instinct to capture fleeting life moments, Michael creates landscapes of our environment and the human experience as only he can do.
Hailing from the Lehigh Valley, Michael is a proud Pennsylvanian. His love of the outdoors is largely attributed to his lifelong summers spent in the Adirondack Mountains, which he still considers his home away from home.
